Jinotega, Nicaragua

Led installation of 3 potable water systems for rural communities, the building of a health clinic and 6 homes through partnerships with local organizations. Created new intercultural experiential education projects for over 100 students including arts, history and language programming. Developed individualized management techniques and support for 10 employees.

Founded new partnership with San Francisco Unified School District to provide tutoring to 100s of San Francisco youth from families in transition. Developed new online and in-person training modules for over 150 student employees. Improved academic support programs for 12,000 students with new technology systems and improved assessment models. Co-led university initiatives for students on probation, student athletes and first-generation, transfer and LGBTQ students.

Assisted in the management of all programs facilitated by the Center and directly supervised Supplemental Instruction, America Reads and customer service and support for the Center's programs and Writing Center services. Provided academic coaching, academic skill and strategy development through appointments, workshops and other resources. Supervised over 60 student employees, including the development and facilitation of employee training. Served on committees and in working groups for University-wide initiatives.

Assessed developments in assistive technology trends and implemented new technology resources for students with disabilities. Coordinated and facilitated the office's services, procedures and functions. Assisted in organizing and analyzing program budgets. Supported a team of four professionals in their efforts to accommodate students with disabilities at the University. Organized and supervised note-taking accommodations including the employment of over 100 student employees. Served and assisted in other University roles and events including new student orientation, commencement, and departmental committees.
