A pioneer, innovator and stalwart of renewable energy, Michael has worked across the sector in its various forms for 30 years. From developing alternative fuels in transport, to building and installing cutting-edge solar technologies, he has played a role in every department. Michael finds great joy in taking the application of science and making it real. He loves using the laws of maths to invent things, to take risky pursuits and make them safer and to create environments where people can learn.Known for gravitating to the complex, exciting and emerging areas of industry, Michael has found it at MOTUM. He now works at the intersection of education, energy efficiency and safety, relishing the opportunity to help people develop critical skills and bring another world to life.Previously, Michael and his team managed all aspects of the cooling system on the Bridgewater solar project, a 140kW concentrated solar PV power station. He was also responsible for the successful installation of the solar roof at Flemington Racecourse, a project considered highly complex due to its curved roof.With many years’ experience in motorsport, one of Michael’s career highlights was to rebuild an Alfa Romeo Tipo 33 for the ten race program associated with 100th Anniversary of the Tour de France. He continues to collect and restore vintage cars, and has a great love for exploring climate change, ecology and the natural world to work on his own invention.
