National Managing Director of Teacher Leadership Programs leads the National Teacher Leadership Program Team, leads national strategic instructional leadership projects, provides coaching and support to regional coaches, shares lessons learned and best practices across the organization and externally, and ensures high-quality program implementation.

As the National Coaching Manager, I oversee the Instructional Leadership Team to directly implement regional and national teacher leadership programs related to instructional practice including training, coaching, and content development, as well as support and build capacity in regional staff. I lead the team to continually improve Teach Plus’ practice programs through research, sharing of best practices, and development of new content and supports. I report to the Vice President of Programs and collaborate closely with our National Director of Learning and Innovation.

As the National C2 Coach, I provide training and ongoing support for teacher facilitators in our C2 Initiative in Boston, Washington, DC, Chicago, Memphis and Los Angeles. Throughout the year, our C2 Facilitators develop and facilitate courses for teachers around some aspect of teaching and learning using the Common Core State Standards. By teachers, for teachers.

As a T3 Coach, I provide school-based leadership support for school reform driven by teacher leaders. I support the development of T3 Teacher Leaders through five attributes that effective teacher leaders use to improve student outcomes across their schools: purpose-driven instructional leaders, skillful facilitators of adult learning, school wide change agents, evidence-based decision makers, and ongoing learners. Through one-on-one coaching the teacher leaders I help them develop the skills necessary to be true instructional and reform leaders in their schools. I meet with each Teacher Leader to plan for upcoming team meetings, debrief previous meetings, and/or engage in leadership coaching and feedback.I observe each Teacher Leader facilitating a team meeting and work with Teacher Leaders and their teams to analyze data and student work to purposefully and collaboratively plan instruction. I also plan and deliver professional development activities for the whole T3 Teacher Leader cohort at that school. I serve as part of school leadership team and meet regularly with principal and school administration to ensure program fidelity.

• Develop leadership capacity for the sustainability of school improvement and overall school culture change.• Prepare district administration, school leaders, and teachers for the implementation of overall school reform in addition to the upcoming expectations of the Common Core State Standards.• Develop and facilitate professional development for district administration, school leaders, and teachers on the use of data to drive instruction, research-based best instructional practices, and effective collaborative planning. • Provide in school support for administrators at schools using Pearson mathematics, science and reading programs and materials.• Build capacity of school administrators and instructional coaches to support quality teaching and learning.• Observe teachers to provide feedback for effective instruction.• Model lessons, co-teach, and collaboratively plan to train teachers in the use of best practices (K-12) • Provide technical assistance to schools using Pearson School-wide Improvement Model.• Work in New York City, Washington, DC, Atlanta, Indianapolis, Baltimore, Norfolk, Providence, Hartford, Newark, Syracuse, Raleigh and other urban, suburban and rural school districts.
