Monitored the process from converting existing wood power line poles to steel power line poles around NCCP habitat, as well as non-sensitive areas. Environmentally trained all crews and new laborers prior to any work. Consulted with crews about minimizing impacts and instructed them to apply mitigation methods whenever possible. Frequently communicated with the construction administrators, foremen, inspectors, and laborers on a daily basis. Assessed areas around the poles for nesting birds, ground dwelling mammals, and rare vegetation prior to any work. Responsible for writing up post-construction reports for the temporary and permanent impacts.

• Freeport Regional Water Authority Pipeline Project, Sacramento County, CABiological monitor for the Freeport Pipeline Project. Monitored the 18-mile pipeline stretching from the Sacramento River to the South Folsom Canal for construction activities, special-status species, trees, and the contractor's compliance with their permits. Frequently had to refer to permit regulations, arborist reports, and wetland delineation maps to determine contractor’s compliance (5 different contractors). Periodically submitted evaluations of the Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) for each project site to the contractors. Guided the construction workers to restore the proper contours of wetlands during the restoration phase of the project. Had the authority to shut down the jobsite if any construction activity jeopardized the presence of wildlife, trees, and wetlands (including vernal pools).• Caltrans Interstate 80 High Occupancy Vehicle Lane Project, Fairfield, CAMonitored construction activity and the contractor’s compliance with permit regulations at the intersection between I80 HOV with Ledgewood Creek and Green Valley Creek. Documented daily inspections onto environmental compliance forms submitted to the project manager. Environmentally trained all newly hired construction laborers prior to working on the project.
