I am fully retired, however I am working part-time with the local school district where I currently live. I am a substitute teacher and spend a majority of my time working with special needs children.

RCIC, an acronym for Regional Crime Information Center, has responsibility for providing computerized records management systems to the 50+ law enforcement agencies operating in Hamilton County. The primary systems provided include:the CLEAR system, which maintains information regarding persons and property; the AFIS system, which maintains fingerprint information on all persons previously arrested; the MDT system, which provides on-line access to information systems from all police vehicles; the LLE system, which provides information on all crimes reported; Jail Management, which maintains information on all persons incarcerated in the Hamilton County Sheriff's Jail. The RCIC also maintains a data communications network which links all Hamilton County law enforcement agencies, including police squad cars, with the local systems and information systems maintained by the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the FBI, and the remaining forty-nine state police agencies

Review legislation, advise and make recommendations on proposed bills that affect public safety in Ohio.

Overall responsibility and accountability for directing the general and specialized functions and units of the Police Department and for all public safety and law enforcement activities. Provide leadership in the community. Administer and manage the public safety organization by planning, organizing and implementing policies, procedures and programs to enhance the community's quality of life. Oversee all activities of a department of fifty full-time employees with a budget of $6.3 million. More specifically my experience includes: recommending the selection, training, and discipline of personnel; establishing the organizational structure and function of the department; managing the budget process; developing and implementing policies and procedures; managing the facility and equipment; enforcing laws; managing the records system; performing public relations activities and managing critical incidents. I have also been extensively involved in developing and maintaining media relations, and relationships with outside agencies and community groups.
