Plant Operator
Current Function as a fresh water treatment plant operator and ensures chemicals, such as chloramines and fluoride, are fed into the water properly to meet EPA and NCWOA standards. Collect samples to run water quality tests used for chemical and pH level analysis and record results. Observe and operate water storage tanks to maintain respectable system pressures. Perform quantitative calculations to monitor chemical usage within 24-hour periods. Functions as a hazardous waste liaison to ensure that all spill kits are available to uphold safety standards. Coordinate as a team to complete all goals and tasks set by the NC Water Operator Association (NCWOA). Assist with new employee training and ensures that new employee understands how to properly perform all the tasks needed to fulfill their job. Performing preventative maintenance on equipment such as checking flow outputs on the chemical pumps to ensure they are functioning appropriately. Calibrating lab equipment such as pH and Zeta Meters
