In this role, I edit peer-reviewed health policy research papers that are read by members of Congress and top policymakers throughout federal, state, and local government. I have also edited articles for Health Affairs Forefront, our online publication featuring commentary and analysis on health policy and issues affecting health and health care. And I've been a frequent co-host of Health Affairs This Week, a weekly podcast on the latest news in health policy, and moderator of events such as Health Affairs Journal Club.

Report and write feature articles for magazines and other publications, with a focus on health and healthcare. Also provide strategic communications consulting, editing and writing services to clients in the public and private sectors.

As senior consultant for content strategy, I helped government, non-profit and private-sector organizations in healthcare and public safety communicate with their target audiences. In that role, I was responsible for developing strategic communications plans, including key messaging, as well as implementing tactics. Projects have included developing presentations and talking points; planning and facilitating strategic planning and stakeholder meetings; writing op-eds, articles and video scripts; researching and writing white papers and reports, including EMS Agenda 2050; and overseeing digital campaigns.

Working in the Office of Policy and Planning, HHS Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response, I assisted with research related to alternative destinations for emergency medical services as well as other topics. I also helped draft an agency-wide after-action report for the Fukushima nuclear disaster.
