American Specialty Health (ASH) manages multiple sites that offer tools and functionality to help clients and their employees achieve their wellness goals through ASH's Wellness Programs. I work within a growing team of Front End Engineers to create Ember apps and Ember addons for reusable components in our many different websites. We work within Agile Scrum teams, along with UX Architects and Designers, Software Engineers, and QA Automation Engineers, to build software in tandem and push out new products and updates through continuous integration. I worked with the rest of the User Interface Team to create a custom CSS grid system, transition stylesheets from CSS to SASS, and start rebuilding the existing websites at American Specialty Health with responsive, mobile-first, layouts.The company website (ashcompanies.com), the company's flagship wellness program website (healthyroads.com), as well as two other popular wellness websites (activeandfit.com and silverandfit.com) were all redesigned and rearchitected for display on all screen resolutions.I helped the rest of the User Interface team design new tools for the company's wellness programs, including a tool for tracking step data captured from step tracking devices and plotting them on a graph.I lead the rearchitecture of the Scorecard tool, where results from biometric screenings were displayed and graphed for the user to track health progress.I also had the pleasure of taking a key role in the front end development of the new Facility Search project, whereby our clients in our Active&Fit program could search for a fitness facility and select one or multiple facilities to enroll in. This feature evolved and was added to several websites, becoming one of the central tools within the wellness programs at American Specialty Health.

My first responsibility was to maintain the existing codebase through bug fixes and the addition of features and customizations for client customizations of our websites and wellness program tools.I also worked with Designers to create new tools to help our clients hit their health and wellness goals, including a multi-page health assessment and scorecard.

Teach upper level web students in areas of web usability including UI design, how people use the web, information architecture, navigation, typography, content design, accessibility, cultural design, affiliation, search engine optimization (SEO), search engine marketing (SEM), social media marketing, email development and usability testing.

Worked with clients directly to complete requests and updates sent in, as well as building custom e-commerce solutions from start to finish.

Worked within a team of design professionals to update and design direct mail campaigns for a large client base.
