I reviewed a range of different research-related contracts including Material Transfer Agreements (MTAs), Data Use Agreements (DUAs), Confidentiality Disclosure Agreements (CDAs) and Amendments. This role requires the preparation, drafting, review, redlining and negotiation of these agreements to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, as well as Northwestern University policies.To effectively do my job, I have a detailed understanding of Northwestern's negotiable positions and absolute requirements in these kinds of agreements, balancing the needs of our researchers and sponsors with the requirements of the law and Northwestern's best practices.Relevant areas of expertise include (but are not limited to): intellectual property ownership, ownership of results and data, publication and confidentiality, liability and indemnification, warranty, export control, choice of law, human subject protection, compliance with HIPAA and FERPA.In addition to a focus on compliance, this position also requires a strong customer service focus. Communicating the rationale for Northwestern's positions to internal and external stakeholders was of paramount importance. Furthermore, I worked with Northwestern's research personnel (Principal Investigators and Research Administrators) to learn about their research and determine their contractual needs and identify any compliance issues they may need to address to move forward with their stated aims.

I handled administrative and pre-review duties for all Northwestern University Material Transfer Agreements (MTAs) and Chicago-campus Data Use Agreements (DUAs). This included working with Principal Investigators and Research Administrators to learn about their research and determine their contractual needs. Then I guided them through the process of submitting MTA/DUA requests, ensured all the required approvals and documentation are in order, and provide preliminary review of contracts before they are reviewed by Senior Contracts and Grants Officers.I also maintained our agreement database and tracking system, ensuring this data was up to date and then running reports to follow-up on outstanding agreements and maximize efficiency. In this role, I reduced the average number of incomplete agreements by 50%.

I published weekly articles on assignment covering the Oklahoma City Thunder and the NBA Northwest Division. These articles were in standard article and slideshow formats and the content included NBA Draft previews and analysis, free agency and trade coverage as well as in-season analysis.

I published 4-5 articles per week on assignment about the Baltimore Ravens, NFL and Fantasy Football. These articles were in standard article and slideshow formats with a wide array of rich media to make them visually appealing and eye-catching. I represented Bleacher Report by covering the launch of Pepsi's 'Are You Fan Enough' marketing campaign in partnership with the NFL.

The Breaking News Team was responsible for some of Bleacher Report's featured content. I worked in 9-hour shifts to cover trending topics across the spectrum of the sports world. I had to work on tight deadlines and generate high-quality content in a short span of time to respond to major events (e.g. Olympics, championship games, big fights like Mayweather-Pacquiao, etc.).

Co-hosted a weekly podcast covering all topics related to the Baltimore Ravens. I researched topics and developed content and segments for episodes and interviewed a range of guests including current NFL players, radio broadcasters and beat writers.

I worked in a Customer Service capacity as part of a team of Technological Assistants to help students, faculty and staff with their technological problems. These issues were diverse, ranging from software and hardware issues to network configuration and hard drive recovery. I was frequently faced with queries that I did not know the answer to, and so I had to carry out the necessary research and creatively solve these problems.

I participated in a 15-week internship program learning the style and format of Bleacher Report articles. I edited online articles to meet a weekly quota, correcting issues ranging from grammatical errors to stylistic issues and structure of articles. I also crafted article headlines focusing on Search Engine Optimization (SEO) to maximize the number of readers. After editing I corresponded with the authors, providing them with constructive criticism and directing them to any of the Bleacher Report writing resources they may have needed. I also screened articles for policy violations (e.g. offensive content, plagiarism, lack of citations, etc.) and reported any violations to the Bleacher Report Content Moderation team.
