Based at British Forces HQ, responsibility spanning 4 countries, 45,000 tri- Service personnel on active duty. Political sensitivity of tasks required reporting direct to the Commander, General Sir Peter de la Billiere. Key policies were created in an highly charged, unforgiving environment and could not be rehearsed in peacetime. AchievementsOperating well above normal level of responsibility, lead the Team which created, without precedents, unique financial, administrative and HR procedures to support the War effort for the 3 UK Services.Working closely with Allies, senior and subordinate HQs, UK Central Government and host Nation senior representatives, gained approval and implemented policies of extreme sensitivity to the host Nation: e.g. religious observance and burial.All policies were effective during the War. Other Relevant ExperienceTrustee on the Boards and Committees of 4 charities, 2 with National profiles, serving disadvantage, mainly for children.Freeman of the City of London and Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Carmen.Earlier ExperienceA range of progressively testing posts connected to Public accountancy, HR, officer training, estate management and legal casework. Mainstream expertise in HR at both operational and HQ / MOD policy level. Fast track promotion.Secondary roles, progressing to be commander, of forces responsible for defence/disaster recovery on operational RAF airfields in war. Regularly evaluated by NATO. Awarded OBE in 1990 for results achieved in the most rewarding but challenging of circumstances.Graduate of RAF Staff College (MA Equivalent) attended by both UK and overseas fast track students. Against stiff competition, awarded College prize for a thesis on future personnel policy.
