Chief Executive Officer
CurrentAs Chief Executive Officer, I administer and manage all KSC activities, including, but not limited to:a) Responsibility for all KSC activities, including but not limited to exhibitions, digital theater films and educational programs, and the marketing and promotion of such activities. Ensure that KSC programs and activities meet the highest creative, technical, and educational standards.b) Ensure that the KSC continues to move forward in alignment with agreed-upon long-range strategic plans so that the KSC will prosper, grow, and enrich the lives of its patrons. As needed, formulate for approval by the Board a strategic plan for the operation, funding, and development of the KSC.c) Develop and submit an annual budget to the Board for approval. Oversee all expenditures in accordance with the approved budget, using reasonable judgment in the best interests of the KSC.d) Hire and discharge all KSC personnel and contract employees and services, and determine their duties, responsibilities, salaries. e) Oversee selection and acquisition of any collections. Make recommendations to the Board for the disposal of collections in accordance with KSC Collections Policy.f) Work closely with the Board and their designated committees to raise funds for KSC from the local community and other sources. Plan and oversee the development of grant applications and other formal solicitations of funds from all sources, including individuals, business enterprises, private foundations and government agencies.g) Further the visibility of KSC both locally, regionally, and nationally by participating, and taking a leadership role wherever feasible, in the activities of professional, civil, and charitable organizations whose interests are compatible with KSC’s mission and long-range plan.h) Ensure that KSC maintains the professional standards of the Association of Science Technology-Centers.
