Facilitated design, layout, assessment and harvesting of replicated field trials relating to vegetable seed production agronomy in Tasmania and New Zealand. Collaborated within a team to complete large scale, field-based surveys of wild and managed pollinators, beneficial insects, and insect pests in agricultural cropping systems. These roles enabled the development of skills in trial design, layout of field experiments and surveys, insect trapping and identification, data handling and basic data analysis. Under supervision and working individually, conducted specialised seed processing and treatments for vegetable, forestry, and native seeds for commercial, breeding and research purposes. Due to the value of many seed lots, the position required a high level of attention to detail, workplace hygiene and high standards of record keeping and labelling. Under supervision, executed seed germination and health testing for commercial and research purposes, culture and isolation of bacterial plant pathogens, light and fluorescence microscopy and processing of samples for yield analysis. This work required an ability to understand and follow laboratory protocols, a high level of attention to detail and record keeping, basic chemistry, microbiology and microscopy skills and safe laboratory working practices. Facilitated the maintenance of captive research populations of native and endemic hoverfly species under evaluation as potential alternative managed pollinators.

Managed admission gates, and allocated tickets and passes to customers. Facilitated customer navigation to seating and other facilities within the stadium and directed searches for lost articles.

Taught children’s circus classes (5 to 18 years old) specialising in juggling and other object manipulation and supervised parties involving trapeze and tight wire.
