At the time, Ballast Point Ventures was finishing raising its third fund, a rougly $160M investment vehicle focused on providing expansion capital to rapidly growing private companies located primarily in the Southeast United States and Texas. While with the firm I assisted in all aspects of the Fund III capital raise as well as portfolio management of Fund I and Fund II investments.- Conducted analysis on new investments and worked directly with eight active portfolio companies on company and investor matters including cash flow analysis, hiring plans and go-to-market strategy- Drafted term sheets and presented company and industry analysis to investment committee for investment financing approval utilizing a data-driven approach to make informed investment decisions- Researched and proactively contacted 500+ founders in order to learn about their businesses and pitch BPV resulting in ~110 unique investment opportunities; developed framework for founder outreach that all associates now use as part of training process- Valued the acquisition of a licensed dermatology product for portfolio company; Analysis included estimating market size, projecting sales quantities, and modeling financial consequences of an up-front versus installment payment structure- Worked on first investment out of BPV Fund III, a $5.25M Series A investment into PowerDMS a provider of cloud-based compliance and regulatory management software
