Watershed is a software platform working to accelerate the fight against climate change. Preventing catastrophic climate change requires businesses to rapidly decarbonize across every sector of the economy. Watershed's tools help companies run a climate program just like any other critical aspect of their business: real-time, fast, data-driven.

Facebook Connectivity Analytics helps mobile operators expand connectivity through insights and analytics. I led our cross functional team of 150+ engineers, data scientists, designers, and go-to-market professionals. During my two years leading the program, we grew our impact over 10x and supported connectivity upgrades that improved service to over 300 million people around the world.

Founded our Connectivity Data Platform team, centralizing responsibility for keeping our connectivity datasets consistently high-quality, reliable, privacy-protective, and available through well documented, standardized APIs. Our data and infrastructure improvements drove a 40% increase in product use within one year.

Led development of measurement methods and top line metrics to guide all of Facebook Connectivity. Set 0-to-1 product strategy to share the methods we developed with mobile operators around the world. Operators now use this product to help guide investments touching tens of millions of people annually.

Led data across Mapbox products. I oversaw our product teams in charge of data tools and validation, our mapping teams in Peru and India, our partnerships with commercial data suppliers around the world, and our community strategy for open-data projects — all to deliver the most detailed, accurate, and up-to-date global map data across Mapbox’s products.

Built our legal team from the ground up. Personally negotiated our largest buy and sell side contracts and built processes to support more than 10x growth in enterprise sales. Oversaw multiple M&A processes, launched and scaled our patenting program, handled litigation and litigation threats, led our open source licensing policies, and hired a brilliant, caring, and diverse legal team.

Created and led the FCC team on ConnectED, a Presidential initiative to expand broadband to all U.S. classrooms and libraries. We delivered a $5 billion expansion of school and library connectivity and have connected over 45 million kids to faster internet. Together with our state and local partners, we have now met President Obama's challenge of closing the school connectivity gap by 2020. I coordinated all our efforts across data analytics, financial analysis, legal drafting, and stakeholder outreach.

Oversaw all policy decisions on behalf of the Chairman on broadband, international, and Internet-related issues, coordinating policy teams and analytics across two 150-person bureaus. Major initiatives included:- implementation of Connect America Fund rural broadband program, including $420 million in committed broadband deployment funds to extend broadband to over a million rural households- the FCC's first-ever reverse auction for broadband buildout subsidies- overhaul of $400 million broadband subsidy program for rural healthcare providers

Advised the General Counsel and Chairman and led project teams on priority policy initiatives, including proposed AT&T/T-Mobile merger, reform of $4.5 billion Universal Service program for rural broadband, and Comcast/NBC merger.

Advised on complex appeals. The D.C. Circuit is the primary appeals court for challenges to U.S. agency actions.

Led professionalization and rapid growth of international student movement to expand global access to university-developed medicines. Raised seed funding, recruited board of directors, and hired first permanent staff.

Crafted legal strategy to shape interpretation of India’s 2005 Patent Act. Working with generic pharmaceutical manufacturers, led one of the first successful HIV/AIDS patent oppositions under the Act.

Developed policy and strategy for CDT’s copyright and consumer privacy initiatives.
