I manage a team of technical staff who evaluate, investigate and develop solutions for Ausgrid's distribution network. My team works in an electrical laboratory environment with protection relays, SCADA RTUs, monitoring equipment and communications devices. I am responsible for lab safety procedures, test methodologies, resource scheduling, and liaising with management. I work closely with equipment suppliers to provide technical support to operational staff within Ausgrid. With the help of my team, I develop innovative solutions to broaden Ausgrid's technical capabilities in protection, automation and control schemes (PACS).

I work with protection and SCADA equipment for use in the distribution of electrical power. I evaluate new equipment and investigate failed equipment. I also run projects to roll out new equipment including training of field staff and development of new processes. I provide support to field operations and write standards for the electrical network.

In Technical Operations South I provided protection settings for the distribution network and worked with Ausgrid's IEC61850 SCADA systems. I also performed project management functions for equipment replacement and breakdowns.

Gained a broad knowledge of engineering in various areas of Ausgrid. 6 month placements in Control & Protection, Field Services North and Distribution Engineering Mains & Services.

Studied electrical engineering full time and worked for Ausgrid during university breaks. Experience included placements in Plant Engineering & Procurement, Customer Operations East, and Secondary System Support.Worked full time between the 3rd and 4th years of my degree. 6 month placements in Intelligent Network and Transmission Substations Central.

Assisted engineering students with electrical and electronics labs. Troubleshooting circuits, marking lab work, promoting and enforcing lab safety procedures.

In this position I assisted Inferno and Flame operators by providing with appropriate media. I also assisted with rotoscoping in Shake and Combustion. This role required high levels of organisation to maintain the many large archives of video and data tapes. I worked with producers to create custom DVDs, CDs and video tapes for clients to view our work.

Assisted with technical aspects of the pipeline in the Animation department. Assured smooth delivery of renders for daily reviews.
