About Michael Stansbury

Greetings: My name is Michael Stansbury, and as the owner of Texas Funnyboy Productions, I am in the business of making people laugh. I am a Stand-up Comic, and Script Writer for hire. In addition, I am a Film Score Composer and a trumpet player, with a focus on Jazz. As a comic, I am a feature act working on a full hour. As a movie maker & scriptwriter, I am working on a television pilot, that will be my audition piece for NYU's / CUNY’s MFA program. I aspire to be a writer on sit coms, and other comedy related shows, in New York City, culminating in to a job as a Showrunner. I am currently working on a BFA in Film at the University of Texas at Arlington. I am also enrolled at the Berklee College of Music, working on a BA in Film & TV Score Composition. I am a Louisiana boy with Texas tendencies. I was raised by my 60's radical, flower-child mom who decided to move home to her redneck relatives. Combine this with a whole lot of DDT and you have the genesis of my comedic perspective.

    I am currently enrolled in UTA's film school, with an emphasis on Directing, Script writing and Video Editing, with a minor in Music Composition. I have a degree in Business Administration.     Texas Funnyboy Productions is the entity through which I handle all of the non-creative aspects of my job. The mundane stuff like editing film, sending out promo packs and maintaining websites and databases and all that not so exciting, but necessary stuff. Show business really is a business. I am currently working on the production end of my first stand-up comedy album. The script is written and the liner notes are ready to go.
