After 20 years of law firm life, I went out on my own, and it has been the best thing that ever happened to me. I have been practicing as a solo in downtown San Francisco for thirteen years now, with a practice limited to business bankruptcy and insolvency, on both the debtor and creditor sides of the fence. I find the work thoroughly enjoyable and engaging, but have also been able to make some time to publish articles and give lectures. Adopted Sub V (the "Small Business Chapter 11") promptly after it was enacted and have successfully prosecuted a several Sub V cases, including one confirmed within 42 days of filing. Although I have successfully prosecuted dozens of traditional Chapter 11 reorganizations and out-of-court work-outs for debtors over the years, I am convinced that Sub V ordinarily offers the quickest, least expensive and most successful option for a debtor's reorganization. Represent creditors in bankruptcy cases. Defend preference and fraudulent transfer actions. Represent landlords, including an NYSE REIT, in tenant bankruptcies throughout the country.
