Initially hired by Arrowmac Staffing in Newport Beach, CA, I first served as a contractor designing pages for HD Supply’s Annual Catalog. I was then hired full-time a year later and after 6 more months, HD Supply announced they would be relocating to Norcross, GA. I opted to accept a relocation offer and rapidly advanced in my duties. My main duties at LCIC consisted of stocking inventory, burning and assembling CD/DVD items and packaging them for shipment. I worked aside volunteers and people serving their community service. My duties were to enhance the existing look of Southern Nevada REALTOR® magazine, to create new logos, advertisements and to design the look and identity for various departments within the association (such as Commercial Alliance and RRG Risk Management.) This temp-to-perm assignment was to create ads for Verizon telephone books. Out of a staff of 30, I was 1 of 5 designers who remained employed after a 25-man layoff. I first learned of designing from a database from this position.
