During my second semester at Milwaukee Tool, I was in charge of reducing manufacturing downtime, assisting in manufacturing automation, and designing new safety features at the plant. One such safety measure that I designed replaced the current lift out gate system for forklifts with a swing gate. This allowed for technicians to access the raw stock loading in to the machine without having to lift a heavy gate that often pinched the users fingers.

During this internship, I was tasking with writing standard operating procedures (SOP) for some of the manufacturing machines as well as reducing any downtime during the manufacturing process. I designed a modification for one of the machines that reduced downtime on this machine from multiple hours a day to only a few minutes a day.
