I probably had more jobs in one office at Broadstairs than most people have in their whole working lives. From writing up cashbooks from basic records to creating accounts on extended trial balance paper, I learnt to write computer software, developed an understanding of business, of people and how they are motivated. I was trained to know what legislation permits, and then to understand how it can be used to plan to mitigate tax, how to act to avoid being the subject of any form of legal claims, and how to maintain evidence to defend against any opportunist claim.
