I am a fourth-generation native of Colorado, affectionately known as the Centennial State. My journey in the locksmith trade began in junior high when I started working in the family business, founded by my great uncle in 1901. At that time, the business was under the stewardship of my grandfather, Steve Benoit Sr.After graduating from Thomas Jefferson High School, I joined the Army, where I served as an operating room technician. This role took me around the world for seven years. Upon my return to Colorado, I earned a BS in Business Management from Regis University. I briefly worked as a pipe fitter, a job I enjoyed, but soon realized my true calling was in the family locksmith business.In 1996, I began running a service van for Mathias Lock and Key, Inc., a position that allowed me to deepen my expertise in both mechanical and electronic security. By 2005, I transitioned to the role of CEO. My vision for Mathias Lock and Key, Inc. is to uphold our family’s legacy of exceptional service, customer care, and strong employee relations, while driving the company’s growth.Mathias Lock and Key, Inc. has evolved from a small locksmith shop into a leading provider of integrated security solutions for businesses across Colorado.
