I'm a Manual QA Software Tester. To share why the role is vital, the following were events I witnessed firsthand as someone from the inside:• Customers complaining to the customer service teams impacting over $500K in sales in a single day from one software bug that caused wrong product multi-SKU orders • Products and projects shut down from continued funding, change in leadership, and change in strategy and vision, all due to poor quality, results, and performance of the mobile or web products• Software Engineers, R&D, UX, and Leadership impacted by reorgs with many losing their jobs from dissolved teams and discontinued productsRecently, CrowdStrike's untested software update bug caused the blue screen of death which Analysts estimated cost upwards of $5.4 billion in damages to each Fortune 500 company that used Windows. Over 8.5 million Windows devices used worldwide were impacted causing a mess globally with thousands of canceled airline flights, stranded travelers and tourists, delayed hospital surgery procedures and patient medical care, loss of work productivity, and damaged reputation. These are what can happen to any company when not having and investing in a strong QA presence. In my 8+ year professional career as a Software QA Manual Tester working for mobile and web teams at Fortune 100 and SMB clients, I’ve developed a strong QA mindset to understand and identify bugs that often go unnoticed by others. I go to great lengths to perform detailed frontend usability, functional, UI, UX, and regression tests to make sure what the team is releasing is by design and ideally bug free of any critical ship blockers. I specialize in Black Box Testing and have worked with website testing and mobile applications testing on iOS and Android. I am known for thinking creatively about uncommon use case scenarios, and, consequently, I frequently find many bugs through exploratory ad-hoc testing and go beyond what’s known from the test suite repository. Since our customers can be of any type, background, and specialty, it’s important to continuously think more and more about the differences in how various users can use the web or mobile app.If you would like more information about the quality of my work, you can refer to recommendations from my colleagues and leadership about my competence in the field. Please contact me at michael_chu_01@hotmail.com if you would like to set up some time to chat about how I can help your team develop high-quality software.
