eBay is the leading global e-commerce facilitator of online consumer-to-consumer and business-to-consumer sales. I led a cross-functional team of 200+ people across three global service centers on a two-year journey to replace 250+ legacy applications with the Oracle/Siebel CRM suite. I managed the $35M budget / $90M 5-year ROI program to an on-time completion. Work streams spanned technology and CS Operations to ensure an end-to-end solution.Each of my teams underwent transformational change as we collaboratively created and matured a previously fragmented technology organization. This included standing up the PMO & organizational change management teams and turning around the release management & user administration teams. I also introduced KPI tracking and service level agreements.

I performed a gap analysis of eBay.com’s disaster recovery capabilities and processes, including remediation recommendations and costing. My team of Business Systems Analysts provided in-depth support to critical site projects.

I program managed the replacement of eBay’s legacy billing system by integrating a telecom billing package into eBay.com, developing a scalable payment gateway, and converting 120+ million existing users to the new system. The two-year, $30M program utilized project management methods such as earned value and QA burn-down rates. My additional areas of focus included vendor management, requirements and design, QA strategy and planning, and business process definition.

As both an independent consultant and part of Annams Systems Consulting, I performed program management, business systems analysis and product implementation services for clients such as eBay, CommerceOne, BlueLight, Selfcare, Miller Freeman, Fluor, Hughes Research Labs, and a public utility. My key accomplishments and focus areas included development of an issue tracking system, asset management, contract administration, and re-design of an e-commerce website.

Miller Freeman was a leading manager of trade and industry expos and publications. I was responsible for the design, development, training, implementation, and project management of a trade show order entry and billing system. The system featured a visual representation of the trade show floor used for order entry, integration into Oracle Financials, and a detailed reporting system. The system was used by over 150 corporate users in four US locations and accounted for approximately 65% of the company’s revenue.

Cost Plus World Market is a nationwide chain of specialty & import retail stores. As the liaison between IT and the distribution center, I revitalized a stalled warehouse pallet manifest project in six months by new implementing functionality and processes.

Mervyn’s was a mid-scale department store chain. I reduced the hardware and software failure rates of in-store handheld radio-frequency devices, at the same time as implementing new functionality, thereby improving the efficiency of store personnel and data quality.

Longs Drugs was a chain of drug stores, now owned by CVS. I implemented Point of Sale (POS) scanning, back-office pricing, item maintenance, and corporate reporting functionality to 300+ stores. I managed 2nd level support and field training during and after deployment.
