As the Vice President of Sales & Marketing at Compendium from 2005 to 2015, I successfully led the transformation of a growing organization into a leader in the specialty retail market. I was responsible for recruiting, training, and managing an 85-member national sales force. Through the implementation of performance metrics and incentive plans, I drove significant customer base expansion, which contributed to the company’s inclusion in the Inc. 5000 list for four consecutive years. My efforts in national account acquisition were pivotal, securing key partnerships with major retailers such as Whole Foods, Nordstrom, Paper Source, World Market, and Target. One of my key achievements was spearheading the design and execution of a new strategic plan that shifted our primary revenue stream to the specialty retail market. This initiative resulted in an extraordinary 700% growth in wholesale-channel sales over six years. Additionally, I led comprehensive restructuring efforts, which included developing the company’s first strategic plan, launching a new marketing campaign, and rebranding the Compendium name to solidify our position as a leader in the specialty gift sector. During my tenure, I expanded our customer base by an impressive 400%, consistently exceeded revenue goals, and grew sales from $3.1 million to $19 million.I also optimized our email marketing and SEO strategies, which led to a remarkable 1,200% increase in web traffic and a 300% boost in online retail sales over five years. My leadership extended to overseeing a complete redesign of our website, which included the launch of a self-service portal for wholesalers, significantly improving customer service efficiency. Ultimately, I secured the three largest accounts in the company’s history, further establishing Compendium as a market leader in the industry.
