Duties include performing daily health checks, change management activities, client upgrades, provisioning, file restores, failed backup troubleshooting, backup optimization and acting as a point of escalation for first level storage teams.Obtained the role of technical lead and implementer for a Verizon Lean Six Sigma project resulting in $276,000 of storage savings. Utilized unix shell scripts to parse, analyze, and interpret data from over 4000 clients across 11 data centers to clean up excessive backup content through exclude lists. Streamlined the NetBackup Provisioning process by centralizing and reducing the old method of provisioning clients from 11 different versions to 1. Created a tool for team members that allows for easy updating, viewing, and manipulation of standard exclude lists.Developed a script to monitor all NetBackup master servers by parsing for files being backed up in multiple policies. This script resulted in the creation of another Verizon Lean Six Sigma project with an estimate of $100,000 in storage savings. Developed a PHP based GUI to allow the First Line Support team to run a report with the simple click of the button.
