About Michael Spadea, Jd, Cipp

✦ THOUGHT LEADER WHO BRINGS ORDER FROM CHAOS TO IMPROVE PRIVACY PROGRAM GOVERNANCE ✦As an avid reader since childhood, my desire for continuous learning started early. While in college, I worked as an EMT to pay my way through school. I was invited to join the Honors Program my freshman year, making the Dean’s list every quarter and graduating with honors. After my time as an EMT, I was a child welfare social worker and then an investigator for the MA Department of Children and Families. Here I developed a prowess for investigating, people skills, communicating, and risk assessment. Fast forward to 2003, I had graduated from law school and opened my own law practice. As business was thriving, my wife’s job moved us to London where I joined Barclays as a Global Privacy Counsel, helping drive an enterprise-wide privacy change program in 60+ countries. My position as a Commercial Privacy Manager at Microsoft brought me back to the U.S. where I broadened my technology experience collaborating with engineers and developers. I then went to work for a prominent financial services consultancy where I quickly built an amazing team that became family for the next 4 years. Our original focus on financial services quickly branched out into retail, medical device, and technology. Later, I was recruited by PwC and with that came with the formal responsibility for the privacy practice in the western U.S. and Greater Texas. Currently, as a Senior Privacy Data Executive, I harness the depth of knowledge in privacy, data ethics, risk management, and project management for Fortune 500 companies to provide indisputable solutions that mitigate risk and positively impact revenue. I am a respected leader who cultivates high-performing, cohesive teams that pioneer game-changing innovation with the customer’s needs in mind. Throughout my career, I have become a mindful communicator with profound business acumen who communicates with regulators on behalf of the organization to rebuild frayed relationships. As an entrepreneur and distinguished public speaker, I thrive in helping others reach their full potential. Specialties include: Privacy Tech Solutions | Data Risk & Mitigation | Negotiation | Regulatory Compliance | Global Project Management | Policy Administration | Management | Data Governance | Crisis Management | Team Development | Budget Management | Public Speaking | Cultivating Collaborative Environments | Driving Diversity & Inclusion | Spearheading Revenue Generation| Leading Innovative Teams | Aligning Data Management | Data Ethics | Business Development
