Managing data and systems associated with road network assets, traffic and crashes.

Responsible for planning and coordinating the implementation of state-wide traffic data and related road use information systems.Managing the acquisition, management and access to traffic data and related road use information. Managing the implementation of policy, standards and process and providing specialist advice in relation to traffic and related road use data.

Responsibilities include the coordination, development, implementation and maintenance of the Visitor Information & Statistics (VISTAT) program for all national parks, state forests, marine parks and other nature reserves that have recreational/tourist visitation across Western Australia, and the execution of the Visitor Survey program to gauge visitor needs, use and satisfaction associated with government services and facilities.Additional endeavours include collaboration with other state and federal government agencies, universities and research institutions for other research as required. This includes providing evidence based decision options, advice on implementation of new technology into public policy and development of new technological platforms to deliver programs more cost effectively and efficiently.

Through community awareness and engagement, education, legislation and enforcement strategies, KABC works to change the attitudes and behaviours of the community.

Responsibilities largely revolved around the design, implementation and management of innovative data collection, analysis and survey projects to effectively determine the number of participants/visitors engaging in recreational activities at key sites around the state of Western Australia.This primarily included statistical analyses and quantitative modelling of various data collection methodologies and survey types to determine their comparative precision, accuracy and cost-effectiveness at achieving business outcomes.Side projects included mapping sea temperatures and ocean currents, tracking white pointer sharks via satellite and automating data analysis procedures.
