As a student in the medical program at the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, I have interest in many different subject areas. These include academia, research, and healthcare in general. My Bachelor's Degree was earned in the specialization of Medical Biophysics, a subdivision of the medical sciences program at the University of Western Ontario. Here, we studied everything from joint replacement to the physics of the circulatory system to medical imaging. It’s a fascinating field to be in! Going forward, I would enjoy learning yet more about the medical imaging field and possibly finding employment within this field sometime in the future.In addition to my student experience, I was also a research student in an imaging lab at the Lawson Research Institute at St. Joseph’s Hospital in London, Canada. Here I have assisted others on their research projects and worked on projects of my own. My position exposed me to both the data acquisition and data management side of research. Through this experience, I have gained valuable skills in research, teamwork, independence, and time management to name a few.I have also been privileged to be a part of other leadership teams currently as well as in the past. Currently, I am acting as a course representative for an experiential learning course taught in the medical program at the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry. In the past, I have acted as a class representative and the president of the student council at the secondary school that I attended. Furthermore, through this experience, I was granted the opportunity to serve on the executive board of the local Chamber of Commerce for two years. These experiences have taught me the necessity of a coercive team, what makes a good leader, and how to be a voice for others.From growing up in a small rural town surrounded by agriculture to pursuing higher education in a bustling city at a university attended by tens of thousands and conducting research at top facilities, I sure have had a wide range of experiences!
