As a Mechanical Engineer and Responsible Member at Syncrude, one of the largest producers of crude oil from Canada's oil sands, I have applied my engineering design expertise and mechanical engineering knowledge to design, improve, maintain and oversee mechanical and piping systems and equipment for the company's operations. I have over 25 years of experience in the fields of mechanical engineering, project management and engineering quality assurance, working on various projects involving a large variety of equipment and systems. I have always been customer focused and collaboratively worked with cross functional teams to ensure cost effective, reliable and safe designs or solutions. I am familiar or proficient with pumps, centrifuges, water, chemical and slurry piping and pipelines, valves, metallic and non-metallic piping, crushers, conveyors, screens, feeders, mobile equipment, dredges, barges, floating lines, de-icing systems, workboats, tenders, floating walkways, compressors, blowers and more. My extensive experience and knowledge has also resulted in being responsible for development and/or maintenance of several company technical specifications as well as maintenance and management of nearly 200 approved pipe and pipe fitting manufacturers. I am proficient in design calculations and analysis as well as quality assurance and system reliability fundamentals. I have a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Manitoba, where I learned the fundamentals of engineering principles, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, materials science, and mechanics of machines. I am passionate about solving complex engineering problems, optimizing mechanical performance, and enhancing operational efficiency and reliability. I am also committed to continuous learning, innovation, and collaboration, as well as adhering to the highest ethical and professional standards. My goal is to leverage my skills and experience to deliver value-added solutions and services to Syncrude and its stakeholders.
