Start-up company deploying WiFi communication networks in locations throughout NW Ohio. At one point, Island Communications had more WiFi hotspots in the Toledo area than any other wireless internet provider.

• Selected to lead an organization created through volunteer efforts and intended to promote the growth and expansion of the information technology industry in Northwest Ohio • Launched membership program and expanded number of member companies to nearly 90 in less than 12 months • Developed partner/sponsor programs and built relationships with companies including Microsoft, WorldCom and Cisco to assist in formation of technology events • Coordinated monthly networking events and quarterly dinners for Toledo Area Chief Information Officer (CIO) Forum as well as the annual Regional Information Technology Awards • Helped in the creative development of marketing materials and provided content for organization website
