As a Peer Instructor I take on the role of assisting and guiding undergraduate students in the specific major of Criminology throughout an intro course. My primary responsibility is to enhance the learning experience for students by providing support, sharing knowledge, and facilitating collaborative learning. Working along side a Professor, I present to the class information about campus, how to get involved with different student organizations, how to access vital online resources (Canvas, Research Directories, PAWS, Etc.), how to address professionals in person and emails, and how to gain internships/experience.

As a Student Manager, I am entrusted with the paramount responsibility of ensuring the safe and seamless operation of the Brower Student Center. Functioning as an extension of the professional staff, I am authorized and empowered to effectively manage the entire building. This role entails a multitude of duties and responsibilities, reflecting its managerial nature and the imperative need for effective leadership in running a student-oriented facility.• Cultivating a welcoming and inclusive environment: I prioritize creating an atmosphere that is welcoming to all students, faculty, staff, and guests. By actively offering assistance during my shifts, I ensure that everyone feels valued and supported within the Brower Student Center.• Supervising Building Assistants and enforcing policies: I assume the role of supervising the Building Assistants during my shifts, ensuring their adherence to all policies and procedures. This includes providing clear guidance, offering support, and addressing any performance issues in a professional and constructive manner.• Event set-ups and client support: I am proficient in supervising and/or personally executing set-ups for events, including arranging furniture, audio-visual equipment, and maintaining the overall appearance of the Brower Student Center. I prioritize greeting clients at the start of an event and ensuring their continued satisfaction through regular follow-ups.• Opening and closing procedures: I am responsible for successfully executing opening and closing procedures for the Brower Student Center, ensuring that all necessary tasks are completed to maintain smooth operations.• Inspection and maintenance oversight: I conduct periodic inspections of equipment and services within the Brower Student Center, including the Information Desk and Game Room.

I was involved within a two-week program that provided interns an exclusive and in person learning experience of officers’ duties and responsibilities within the Bureau of Criminal Investigation. Multiple Detectives, Officers, and Lieutenants gave their personal experiences to provide the interns with different skills. Additionally, Members of BCSD SWAT, Bomb Squad, and K-9 Unit contributed to the program and spoke to the Interns.I assisted Police Officers with community engagement events (National night out, Back to school Supply give away, Officer Appreciation Day), help facilitate the 2022 Bergen County Youth Academy, joined in multiple tours of the Bergen County Jail and Police Academy, aided in daily Officer office duties, and worked alongside the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office to encourage people to lock their cars.
