Chengdongbei Sour Gas Project, Sichuan, China

• Was an integral part of the Operations Team that successfully carried out the commissioning, plant start up, handover and operation of NGP Sour Gas Plant in Nanba, China. Plant is now operating at full capacity on 3.
• Led a team of plant and DCS operators ensuring plant ran safely, efficiently and within environmental stipulations.
• Gained considerable operating experience in Claus, SCOT, Sulfinol, TEG, pigging systems and Honeywell Experion DCS systems.
• Monitored plant conditions, carried out fault finding, defect reporting and daily reporting to management.
• Authored and reviewed Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to ensure all equipment can be safely started up, shutdown and isolated as per Chevron procedures.

Shwe Gas Project - Myanmar

- Supervising the safe and efficient operation of the newly commissioned Shwe Gas Platform, ensuring gas production and quality targets are met whilst supervising a team of 5 Production Technicians and CRO’s. - Regularly liaising with the maintenance teams, communicating work requirements and ensuring all planned and responsive repairs are conducted.

Shwe Gas Project, Myanmar

• Playing a pivotal role as a Lead Production Technician during the establishment and commissioning of the Shwe offshore Gas Platform in Myanmar.
• Delivering engaging and informative training and competency evaluations for over 12 Trainee Production Technicians, ensuring all candidates are full conversant with role requirements by adhering to the company.
• Confidently undertaking plant isolation, purging and re-commissioning works to process plant.
• Acting as Permit to Work Coordinator, upholding exacting levels of health and safety and following the integrated safe system of work (ISSoW) policy.
• Utilising ISSoW software and its permit work, risk assessment and isolation management functions to review and approve all health and safety documentation prior to approving any work request.
• Acting in the capacity of Control Room Operator, using the Delta V DCS control systems to correctly monitor and control both fire and gas systems.

Barrow Onshore Gas Terminals

• Supervising the safe and efficient operation of a highly complex, tier 3 rated control of major accident hazards (COMAH) gas processing plant to maintain an accident and incident free environment.
• Managing a team of 10 Production Technicians and Control Operatives tasked with optimising gas supply from 4 gas fields to the National Grid over a 24 hour period.
• Consulting and reviewing the company’s piping and instrumentation diagrams and ISSoW isolation standards for gas free atmospheres and nitrogen purging to compose and implement improved shutdown and isolation procedures.
• Supervising the successful commissioning of the £80m Rivers Sour gas processing plant on behalf of a third party customer, ConocoPhillips, ensuring the project was completed timely and in line with the brief.
• Acting as the ISSoW Area Authority, collaborating with the Performing Authorities to undertake comprehensive risk assessments; identifying potential hazards and associated risks, devising suitable isolations procedures.
• Providing in-depth training plans for new employees and assessing general competency, ensuring all personnel adhere to correct safety and operating procedures at all times.

Barrow Onshore Gas Terminals

• Working as a Production Technician, ensuring the safe and effective delivery of oil and gas at the Rivers onshore sour gas processing plant.
• Operating the control room using Emerson Delta V, Rosemont RS4 DCS fire and gas systems.
• Completing in-depth reviews of process operator guides, red-line marking diagrams and authoring revised guidelines to ensure full compliance with all industry regulations and safety legislation.
• Referring to company piping and instrumentation diagrams to isolate and de-isolate plant and equipment in full accordance with isolation standards prior to the commencement of any maintenance works.

Barrow Onshore Gas Terminals/Offshore Morecambe Bay

• Planning and executing offshore well inspections and well testing, and reporting all findings.
• Commissioning of hydrocarbon in produced water testing equipment on the Morecambe Bay offshore platforms, ensuring all equipment full complies with EA regulations.
• Performing environmental monitoring, recording and reporting all NORM levels and H2S production figures from offshore gas wells.
• Managing teams of specialist contracting companies (nitrogen purge and N2/He pressure testing) during the annual shut downs to ensure works are completed correctly and safely.

Offshore Morecambe Bay

• Carrying out planned and breakdown maintenance on mechanical plant items on offshore gas processing and safety equipment, including valves, pumps and centrifugal gas compressors.
• Ordering spare parts for maintenance using LOMS and SAP.
• Planning maintenance activities for annual shutdown activities.
• Operating as a member of the Emergency Response Team and as a Lifeboat Coxswain.

Heysham Support Base

• Accepting post Secondment, whilst performing as Mechanical Maintenac Technician, Offshore, Morecambe Bay.
• Carrying out maintenance review, RCM study and maintenance selection project for all mechanical plant items on 9 offshore gas production and processing platforms.
• Receiving training in planning and execution of RCM and maintenance strategy selection techniques.
• Successfully achieving a 25% reduction in maintenance man hours.
