Full stack developer and data analyst at a high-volume behavioral marketing data coop. Took on many troubled projects to get them back on track, and contributed to almost all technical areas of the company. Helped build a greenfield online ad segmentation app that required unique methods due to legal constraints. Created a MySQL interface and refactored a broken Oracle unit test suite to provide full coverage. Detected and cleaned up multiple data disasters that have threatened the business. Created test automation, health check, metrics-scraping to keep the business running.

Designed and coded an XML integration layer for a remote online marketing company using a TDD (test-driven development) methodology in Python. Adapted to a changing development effort within a strict set of requirements on budget and on time while making the business stakeholders happy.

Led a systems-up level effort to turn a disorganized, prototyped suite of eLearning tools and content into a commercial product in a tiny startup under extremely challenging conditions. Turned a single-server, single code-base LMS into a fault-tolerant production system with streamlined delivery and branding processes.

Designed, prototyped and lead a team to develop Zulaware, a collaborative, adaptive and self-refining framework for networked information retrieval and sharing. Zulaware was the first search tool that effectively indexed the human experience of information retrieval by analyzing users’ paths through searches, and provided a novel path visualization interface. We built a company around it and raised > $1M before crashing in late 2001. Created an adaptive Rails-style reflection- and metadata-based ORM in Java and Oracle before ORMs were commonly available.

Worked on a large team developing and maintaining an extremely extensive, multi-platform, object-oriented genetics research tool. Consolidated and simplified a large, ad hoc bioinformatics data import/export library and introduced an innovative visual tool to map data definitions. Saved a large, messy set of bioinformatics object editors that cost > $1M from being scrapped by refactoring and simplifying and applying consistent DRY principle.

Worked on a small, startup team to develop and maintain a Windows-based Requirements Management tool tightly integrated w/ Microsoft Word. Learned from a gold-standard team and process how a successful software business operates and was able to work on several, user-friendly GUIs.
