We overcame the interference problem in seeing clotting and restenosis in metal stents under MRI. This is a safer, non-invasive procedure than angiograms. I started this spin-off of Xerox Corporation and created the popular Word Finder thesaurus, selling 6 million copies in OEM channels, 1 million in handheld devices, and 255,000 in print. We licensed technology to companies including Microsoft, Claris, Sharp, Casio, Seiko, Sony, Symantec, HP, DEC, Selectronics, Xerox, Fuji Xerox, Wang, WordStar, XyWrite, and over 100 others.

I held a variety of positions including Account Sales, Sales Manager (Central Florida), Manager Compensation Planning, and Software Market Expansion in Xerox headquarters.This position enabled me to work with the incredible talent and technology at the Xerox Palo Alto Research Center (PARC), and then to work on several projects to commercialization these.This was where I developed the skills on balancing innovation on a partnership between research, marketing, and investor interests.I earned the nickname "impedance matcher" from one of their executives, and I am proud of getting technology legally out under license, and commercialized. I am now applying these skills to healthcare, where the lack of innovation to clinic is far more tragic and little known than what happened at Xerox PARC. Today people are dying from technology mismanagement. Billions are being spent on inefficient solutions, and life-saving breakthroughs are managed by the whims and financial dreams of VC's, not often MD's. Only disruptive change will move this forward.And if money is made, competition will follow with more innovation.
