About Michael Weiss

I am a seasoned professional in digital marketing, eCommerce and product management, I have driven profitability and business growth within several industries, including retail, hospitality and health & wellness. In my current position, I oversee Marriott International’s global online retail business. For the past ten years, I have grown this business over 1,000% and created Marriott's second largest ancillary driver of organizational profit. In this role, I focus my team on optimizing the user experience, designing & growing digital marketing capabilities across multiple regions, developing internal and external partnerships, aligning merchandising & product assortment with the brand vision and streamlining the online retail platform operations.Previously, I served as Director for MGM Resorts International’s Online Marketing Group. I managed the company’s digital marketing campaigns for its world-class hotels such as Bellagio, Mirage, ARIA, and MGM Grand. My creative leadership, utilizing display marketing, SEM, SEO, social media, strategic partnerships and eCommerce, produced over $150 million dollars in annual revenue. Additionally, I have managed online marketing departments for Internet startups such as eDiets and Barpoint.com, and worked at larger organizations such as Office Depot and Electronic Data Systems. I am a member of several interactive marketing associations and I have sat on the boards for the Ataway Exchange and The Digital Travel Summit- two organizations that focus on digital strategies and tactics for travel professionals. I have spoken on eCommerce best practices at eTail East in 2013 and eTail Brazil in October 2014 on the effectiveness of content marketing for retailers. I earned a B.S. in computer engineering from the University of Florida and a M.B.A. in international business from the University of Miami.
