About Michael Hemphill

Former award-winning newspaper reporter and less lauded stay-at-home dad, I am an experienced, entrepreneurial nonprofit leader who relishes both bold ideas and the partnerships often needed to bring them to life. I value strategic planning, consensus building and teamwork; am skilled at project coordination, special events, publicity and grant-writing; and embrace the traditional and digital when it comes to marketing, fundraising and other tools required to achieve success. Despite a pandemic in 2020, I launched a new TV show, BUZZ, which features the great work nonprofit organizations do in our communities, and the marketing professionals who help them do more, do better, by helping them create more ... buzz! More than 200 federal, state, local, university and nonprofit institutions — including NASA — participated in the festival.
