Assembly Technician / Warehouse Support
• Led the effort to install decibel reducing material within the tight confines of stainless-steel components of many sizes and shapes. Guided other laborers when assistance was needed due to high demand.• Improved the accuracy of the sound deadening lining installation by proposing and implementing new metal templates. The original templates were made of cardboard and would easily get damaged and out of tolerance. The metal templates now also meant that material use could be better planned rather than just piecing together scraps of material.• Collaborated with the CAD Department in the creation of the upgraded metal cutting templates. Verified and approved final CAD drawings prior to template production.• Solved a production issue where stainless-steel components were difficult to assemble during the lining process by proposing to line the components as two separate pieces and join them together after the lining process. This allowed for quicker and physically safer assembly process for the worker doing the assembly.• Managed the Lining Department inventory to ensure that there were sufficient supplies necessary so as to not cause a delay in the lining process.• Worked collaboratively with all departments to ensure timely delivery schedules were met. Departments included Production, Welding, Fabrication and Shipping.• Designed and built custom size wooden skids for transport and shipment of large, heavy arch systems used in tunnel system car washes.• Trained new employees on proper lining techniques. Training included verbal training and visual demonstration to ensure both safety and high-quality end products. This enabled a seamless transfer of knowledge to a new assembly facility in Canada.• Assembled custom hardware kits per project thereby ensuring a complete product for the customer.
