Short term project to provide preliminary engineering design for the proposed MTA “Purple Line”, which will be a 16-mile light rail and pedestrian path near Washington DC. Once completed this new mass transit system will provide Maryland’s citizens and visitors with options in avoiding the overly congested local roadways. Current focus is on establishing the project’s footprint (limit of disturbance) for the environmental statements. Many innovations will be developed to stay within the original 66-foot right-of-way, minimize disruptions to adjacent landowners, meet Stormwater requirements, etc.

WM&A was typically the prime consultant. Established budgets, schedules and work scopes with clients and then typically carried projects through advertisement. Often did SWM and stormdrain design as well as highway development tasks, and obtained permits. Was assigned a staff or 4 but often directed many more as needed for projects not including sub-consultants
