Responsibilities include management of technical and application projects and providing services to end users. Worked on all project phases from design to coding and implementation. Led project teams thru complete program development cycle. Also, charged with working on technical issues for IBM midrange systems. Provided the primary company support for IBM midrange system configuration, technical programming problems, and performance issues. Also maintained system and programmer productivity systems such as Turnover and BRMS.Significant projects include: ● Designed and led team to implement custom web based CRM system for store sales professionals using Agile development methods. ● Worked on a multi-discipline team to implement a new Magento eCommerce web site. This involved managing and working with several remote teams in Poland, Montreal, California, as well as our local staff. ● Designed, coded, and implemented iPad app for stores that increased closed sales 33%. ● Designed and led team to implement several IBM i5 to Apple iOS interfaces. ● Worked as IBM i5 expert on team that created company Disaster Recovery system. Also was a key member for yearly fail-over tests. ● Designed and implemented several IBM i5 communication interfaces to partners, such as banks, credit bureaus, and ADP. Some of these interfaces used FTP or SFTP, while other interfaces used ODBC connections to MS SQL Server databases. A few even used low level socket APIs. ● Co-managed team and supported the conversion of JDA retail system to Island Pacific retail system.

Provided consulting services to Sign-On (Aspedient) clients for programming and system design. As practice leader for iSeries and AS/400 systems, one chief responsibility was to educate the staff on the latest hardware and software developments for the IBM midrange systems, especially software development techniques.Worked with a wide variety of clients, but most notably for The Sports Authority and the Union County Clerk's Office. In both cases, had a relationship with them for over 10 years. With The Sports Authority, existing retail systems were customized for The Sports Authority while others were written from scratch. Also a major contribution was made by designing and implementing a system to distribute retail information to free standing IBM iSeries servers at over 200 stores. One of the more challenging and interesting projects I worked on was to enable The Sports Authority to open and run stores in Japan. Besides the inventory and shipping logistics work, I was tasked with many changes that involved the Japanese language. This entailed making the IBM iSeries run multiple languages, including a double byte base system for Japanese. And as I had written the store signage system, using only iSeries components (no PCs), I modified this system to print in Japanese - and I don't speak Japanese.At the Union County Clerk's Office, the core systems that encompassed all of their day to day operations were designed and implemented. Document recording, indexing, and imaging were all designed, coded, implemented, and modified over the years to meet ever changing office needs.
