Director Global Network Architecture And Automation
CurrentDirector of Global Network Engineering Architecture. I manage a team of 18 global network and security architects and automation engineers. In this role I lead teams of Network and Security Architects that represent each global region and networking technologies. I also act as Product Owner for Network Automation where I develop the roadmap of features for Network Automation. Using a combination of Ansible, Python, Vault, and other technologies we develop features that are focused on increasing engineering velocity. I manage each regional lead architect and review current projects for the region and provide leadership. The networking engineering teams have representation from another global architect representing DataCenter, Backbone WAN, Client Services and End User Networking. I identify new technologies and develop roadmaps for Infrastructure Technologies for the next 1 - 3 years. The team then puts these technologies through a very thorough product development lifecycle focused around 3 key areas -1. Why are we doing this - Functional Requirements2. Use cases - how will change the way we do business3. Technical Requirements My team focuses on collaborative development and no Ivory Tower Architecture and we document everything. Following an agile methodology leveraging a DevOps mindset my team delivers at least 3 supporting technologies and 1 major technology shift every year.
