Since my start at Reuters, I've consolidated previously distributed technology groups into a unified, high-performance and malleable global organization that supports the strategic/business growth initiatives of Reuters. Notable initiatives include: replacing the entire lead to support stack, re-platforming of our consumer and mobile offerings (including subscription support), enabling/moving advanced Editorial tools and video to Cloud, launching multiple net new revenue product technologies, amongst others.

Following the separation of Thomson Reuters and Refinitiv, I led the Digital Experience Platform (DXP) for Thomson Reuters and was responsible for all technology and development directly under the Chief Digital Officer. This includes our digital properties, e-commerce sites and self-service technologies. Additionally my teams provided the prototyping, experimental capabilities and component development governance for all Thomson Reuters digital initiatives. In Toronto I am a site leader for the Thomson Reuters technology centre, a global initiative for TR to build a uniquely innovative centre and home for its technologists. After almost 300 top hires in two years, we are accelerating towards a 2021 move to a purpose built new centre in downtown Toronto. Additionally, I acted as the primary liaison between the enterprise TR technology organization and Chief Digital Office.

As head of Risk Development at Thomson Reuters, I focused on the global, innovative advancement of the Risk Product portfolio. As well as overseeing projects to embed AI powered capabilities in the flagship product World Check One, I have overseen the launch of the Active Intelligence Data Privacy Advisor, an IBM Watson powered next generation legal privacy product created in partnership between our Legal and Risk businesses. Additional responsibilities entailed running product technology due diligence on M&A for Risk, as well as for Proofs of Concepts with potential partners, and partner opportunity discovery. I was part of the founding Toronto Technology Centre Leadership, an initiative that targets recruiting 1500 top technologists/engineers by 2022.

Guiding them through the challenges of starting and growing a business covers many topics, such as product design, team building, raising finances and choosing advisers. Architelos was an international boutique and premium technology consultancy in the core internet infrastructure market that also offers SAAS based security and management products. I was one of four partners of Architelos. As CTO at Architelos, my responsibilities included consulting, product development, security and technology, integration services and services delivery platforms. All of the Architelos' partners contributed heavily to business development and revenue generation. Exited in December 2015.

As one of the founding leaders, I was a key participant in winning and retaining Afilias' book of business for its initial 10 years. As an Ex-com member, my last role at Afilias was to shape the roadmaps and life cycles for their technology products. This included guiding strategy and standards in quality, delivery and market viability across numerous functional areas such as operations, engineering, business development, marketing and sales. In previously roles at Afilias, I have led (and in most cases founded) a variety of groups, including: Development, R&D, QA, Operations, Customer Care, and the Project Management Office - beginning with an initial Toronto staff of 15 that I grew to over 120.

Previous to joining Afilias I was the Senior Project Manager, Business Systems at Grocery Gateway. In this role I was responsible for an 18 month end to end technology deployment across all distribution centers. Grocery Gateway was a ground-breaking e-commerce delivery service that initiated lasting changes in supply chain management technology.

In 1996 they founded their first permanent offices at 151 King Street West, at the same time I joined the organization with the mandate to build an internal I.T. infrastructure and organization. Over the course of 4 years, I built a top tier I.T. support team across Canada, highly advanced trading and inter-office networked services, and opened one of the first purely electronic Pro-Traders floor ( as the TSE closed the physical trading floor ).
