Dr. Michael Liu is Vice President of New Hope Investment Group. New Hope is a China conglomerate and a global fortune 500 company, founded in 1982. Mainly based in Beijing, Michael is responsible for group portfolio strategy and operation steering, major investment. He is Chairman, Board Member or Shareholder Deputy in most group portfolio companies. Established portfolio includes agriculture, food, diary, real estate, healthcare and financial services, etc. In addition to above key role within New Hope, Michael also acts as advisory / mentoring roles in other established institutions and organizations, such as Airbus, CEIBS etc. Prior to the current role, Michael was the Global Head of Corporate Strategy for Asia Pulp & Paper Group (APP, the largest integrated pulp and paper player worldwide), responsible for key strategy development, major deals formulation and business excellence transformation for APP. Prior to career in APP, Michael was Vice President of Siemens Greater China, and China Office Head / Partner of Siemens Management Consulting (SMC). In this role, his main responsibility include strategy development and execution steering on top management topics, in particular for Siemens Energy and Industry related business. Prior to his role in Siemens, Michael was working in McKinsey German office. Michael gained PhD degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Imperial College London and Diploma for Graduates in Economies from London School of Economies.
