Utilized incoming quality inspections and facilitated supplier corrective actions to drive a year-over-year 40% reduction in the number of material shipments containing defective units. Led a cross-departmental project team in the development and implementation of a supplier risk and material criticality assessment tool, which was applied to over 5,000 materials and 120 suppliers to prioritize quality management activities. I was also the department lead in the implementation of an SAP ERP application to reduce material inspection time by 5-10%, and to integrate quality control activities with the rest of supply chain management.

Acted as the lead engineer for 120 chapters of the company’s most critical natural gas pipeline design and operating standards. These standards covered state and federal pipeline safety regulations, industry best practices, and company specific requirements for facilities serving 800,000 customers. In this role I was responsible for leading a team of five engineers to review, revise, approve, interpret, and communicate standards which governed the actions of over 20 internal and external departments. I also led a project team in the assessment of 31 different departments to determine the company’s degree of alignment with pipeline safety management system standard API RP 1173.

Provided engineering services for the design, construction, testing, and commissioning of critical natural gas distribution facilities such as regulator stations, pipeline mains, and commercial/industrial meter sets. Services included, but were not limited to, capacity & overpressure calculations, facility & pipe routing configuration, meter & regulator sizing, material selection, testing & purging procedures, and pipe stress analyses. Also designed and implemented the company’s first remote controlled valve actuator, which was used as an emergency shut off valve.
