I am a leader in sustainability, engineering, supply chain, and sales strategy with 14 years in the tech industry. I have a B.S. in chemical engineering, an MBA from ASU, and an Executive Masters in Sustainability Leadership (EMSL).My mission is to be a "boundary spanner," or one who can effectively communicate and collaborate with different stakeholders and domains of expertise to deliver the most comprehensive solutions. This deliberateness has led to my comprehensive professional experiences in environmental / chemical engineering, sales & go-to-market (GTM) strategy, contract & permit negotiations, strategic sourcing, supplier management, human performance, data analytics & IT systems, and cultural diversity & inclusion leadership. I've worked with all levels of the organization ranging from the C-Suite internally as well as of suppliers, customers, and partners on strategic goals to in the field with technicians on the tactical "dirty" work from sampling sewage and repairing wastewater equipment. On my spare time, I enjoy international travel as I have visited 40+ countries with the most recent in Slovenia, Austria, Poland, and Denmark. I am also a mentor for the Greenlight Solutions and stay involved with other non-profits. I owned the Intel's supply chain responsibility and risk programs, including RBA code, human rights (combating modern slavery & responsible minerals), CDP climate change & water risk reporting, green chemistry, chemical compliance, and security for the finished goods assembly & test manufacturing. I worked at all levels with the BUs, from the VP/executive, supplier, and IC-level to complete supplier and Intel requirements, e.g. customer & investor ESG requests, supply chain risks, and reimbursement of costs/fees (millions). My specialization focused on environmental sustainability, conduct reporting on Scope 3 Purchased Goods & Services (Category 1) emissions based on the GHG Protocol's Technical Guidance and model 2030 emissions to prioritize initiatives in the top 4 emitting industries.Externally, I represented Intel in industry associations, such as RBA ESWG and CMWG, CDP, SESHA, and CEPN to advance industry initiatives. Through Intel, I successfully updated industry standards by achieving the sufficient 2/3 votes for ODS in the RBA Code of Conduct and VAP manual audit protocols. My technical expertise also enhanced the chemical content of the RBA Self-Assessment Questionnaire (SAQ) to be more specific and reflective of the EHS discipline.I enable product and technology through new R&D material selection by proactively evaluating product chemical ingredients (full disclosures) for regulatory restrictions. This includes applying expertise of GHS, U.S. TSCA/RCRA, Malaysia CLASS, Vietnam's Decree 113, IATA/DOT, and Incoterms®, and then managing and strategizing with distinct & contentious stakeholders to achieve the most comprehensive solution. I've led cross-geo/org teams to secure the supply from critical chemicals used in production, such as refrigerants being phased out by the Montreal Protocol / Kigali Amendment or developing perfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) regulations for product test heat transfer or data center immersion cooling applications.

    Santa Clara, California, Us
I ran the business operations of the IoTG ISD Industrial Solutions Management (ISM) for resource and project approval for Product Overview Proposals, such as edge control software, Industrial PCs, and new healthcare applications in response to COVID-19. I integrated the sustainability factors as part of the proposal criteria by including attributes linked to Intel's 2030 goals or industry sustainability initiatives. My sustainability expertise (e.g. cost of carbon, industry climate standards, and environmental permitting, reporting, & regulations) supported the 2030 roadmap of the ISD's Sales & Marketing Director on grid modernization, energy resiliency, electrification, and environmental monitoring.
  • Intel Corporation
President, Nextgen (New Hire) Employee Resource Group
    Intel Corporation Jan 2017 - Dec 2018
    Santa Clara, California, Us
The Next(Gen) Employee Resource Group is a Tier 1 strategic group, sponsored by Global Diversity & Inclusion, to advance community, retention, and recruitment for new hires, early career professionals, and interns. I was elected and served as AZ Site President in 2017 and Cross-Site President in 2018. It is the fastest growing and most active ERG at Intel - growing over 200% in membership since 2016. Activities to promote community and retention include career development executive speakers, volunteerism, networking, wellness & fitness, and partnering with the BUs.I directed a board of 15 members in Arizona and 8 site Presidents in the U.S., defining the strategic annual goals, managing spends and budget, and led cross-site All-Hands and team-builders. During 2018, Next(Gen) proliferated an AZ-only career development summit to 3 of the major U.S. sites, on topics such as autonomous driving, innovation with Intel Labs, and corporate social responsibility.WeAreIntel: https://blogs.intel.com/jobs/2020/09/how-employee-resource-groups-helped-andrew-find-his-community-at-intel/
  • Intel Corporation
Supplier Workforce & It Program Manager
    Intel Corporation Feb 2015 - Nov 2018
    Santa Clara, California, Us
I was a Human Performance program manager that oversees field service engineering competency, internal workforce capabilities, and training documentation for finished goods assembly and test operations in U.S. technology development and high-volume manufacturing in Asia. When I first joined the team, my group had negative feedback from the department managers supported. Through my supportive, transparent, and analytical work philosophy, this turned the negativity into a collaborative environment where I was a part of the team meetings and strategy development. My technical projects include developing a human performance improvement project to assess the skillset for field service engineers (FSEs) for an inexperienced, ramp-critical supplier in Asia to enable on-time tool install to production. Using data analytics and visualization, I also anticipated gaps in workforce needs by modeling skills against the Man:Machine ratio to proactively forecast demand for supplier training for preventative & corrective maintenance. Moreover, I was the sourcing manager for construction professional services (e.g. quantity surveying, estimating, project management) by updating Terms & Conditions, strategic sourcing, developing and completing supplier report cards to significantly improve performance, and managing stakeholders in the U.S., Europe, and Asia. I executed the strategic sourcing plan that I developed by determining the sourcing criteria, issuing the Ariba RFP, and negotiating with supplier executives. As part of Competitive Intelligence project management, I directed the IT Big Data solutions using Cloudera Hadoop to integrate external market intelligence data, scope, and adjustment factors to expedite estimating of capital construction projects and bid analysis. In program development, I created the program playbook to on-board new employees of the construction supplier selection lifecycle, including strategic sourcing, procurement, and negotiations.
  • Intel Corporation
    Environmental Engineer
    Intel Corporation May 2010 - Feb 2015
    Santa Clara, California, Us
From Oct. 2013 - Feb. 2015, I was the water program owner at the Ocotillo Fab operations. I managed the relationship with the regulatory authorities (e.g. City of Chandler), negotiating terms & conditions of the wastewater permit and hosting annual regulatory inspections with no violations. To be successful, I have hands-on experience with facilities technicians and engineers repairing wastewater equipment for compliance sampling, querying SCADA data for Excel visualizations, and maintenance of large-scale water treatment systems. From May 2010 - Oct. 2013, I was the program owner of hazardous waste & solid waste management, hazmat transportation, refrigerants, stormwater, and ISO 14001 environmental management for the Chandler Assembly & Test R&D and lab operations. I supervised up to three hazmat contract workers through prioritization of tasks, constructive confrontation with managers, and safety incident investigations. My chemical engineering background enabled me to support the design, construction, and startup of the $300M R&D factory leading to a successful new technologies in substrates (https://www.bizjournals.com/phoenix/news/2012/08/14/intel-to-build-300m-research.html), which achieved LEED Gold. This involved close work with construction and engineering firms on Subpart J tank systems, 90-Day waste storage areas, and air sampling for RCRA Subpart BB. My Six Sigma Green Belt project involved streamlining comprehensive EHS audits of 100+ labs that included electrical safety, fire code, fall protection, and chemical & radiation industrial hygiene.During my engineering career, I began studying for my MBA while working full-time in EHS. I was inspired to select my emphasis in supply chain from a circular economy project to locally recycle spent polystyrene packaging material from the manufacturing floor into pencil boxes that were donated to Arizona elementary schools!
