Hi, I'm Michael Zerby! I'm currently pursuing my 4-year degree in Construction Management at Kent State University. I hold an Associate's degree in Business Management and up until Fall of 2023, I was studying Marketing, with 1 year remaining until graduation. During the Summer of 2023, I decided I wanted to find a career path that would provide me 3 major abilities: Daily challenges, multiple job roles, and the ability to give back the community. After numerous consultations with family, friends, and industry professionals, I discovered the route of Construction Management to be exactly what I was searching for.Knowing that I was about to change my direction late into my undergraduate career, I decided to dive in headfirst to get myself up to speed with the CM program. During my first semester, I joined our CM Student Organization (CMSO) and got my foot in the door by participating in the NAHB Custom Homes student competition. Through the CMSO, I participated in many volunteer events such as highway cleanups, and HabitatForHumanity home builds. During my second semester, I began my first full-time internship with Turner Construction while simultaneously remaining a full-time student. I also took on a leadership role for the UC New Builders Competition (Commercial), where my team and I placed 1st, with all odds stacked against us. I'm happy to be back interning with Turner Construction this Summer, and I'm excited to take on the role as Volunteer Coordinator for Kent State's CMSO this upcoming academic year. This year I'm looking forward to working along side my peers on student competitions, working directly with HabitatForHumanity, and growing the Kent State CM program!
