In my early consulting career I learned the value of delivering “pure” advice – disconnected from any other agenda than the client’s need. I developed a deep competency in the art of listening to decision makers who face a challenge, helping them frame and synthesize it, bringing data analytics and best practices to frame the choices available, and then working with them to decide the right path forward. Nowhere in the mix did an agenda to sell a product cloud the advice or advisory process. I believe the same holds true for wealth management – families have a right to receive pure, conflict-free advice, disconnected from the sale of investment or other products. The role of an adviser, and advisory firm, is to serve and empower families – not sell to them. In the past 20 years, I’ve built a career as an executive and leader in the wealth management industry. At JPMorgan Chase and GenSpring Family Offices, I served in executive roles, leading teams of professionals to deliver outstanding and high quality client experiences. My experiences however, led me to conclude that in order to deliver a truly independent, unconflicted advisory experience to wealthy families, a wealth advisory firm must be completely disconnected and independent from financial services institutions. I am therefore thrilled to now serve as a Managing Partner at WE Family Offices, a completely independent advisory firm, offering family office solutions to ultra-high net worth international families. WE Family Offices is a Florida limited liability company.
