I help executors and heirs find inheritance assets. You know those scenes in movies where everyone gathers for the reading of the will and the attorney lists all the assets that the deceased left behind? Well, I’ve got some news for you. It just doesn’t happen this way. Whether or not there was a will, most people don’t leave a detailed list of what they owned, where it is located, or how to get it. This is often left to the executor, the lawyers, or me. This is what I do. I also locate missing heirs and connect them with their inheritance. I’ve always enjoyed putting together the pieces of the puzzle. As a kid, Encyclopedia Brown was my favorite book series. Here was a boy my age playing private detective and solving mysteries in his neighborhood. Then came Indiana Jones. Ever since cinema’s greatest treasure hunter captured ten year old me’s imagination, I’ve long loved the idea of searching high and low and doing whatever it takes to find and bring home valuable items others hid somewhere or maybe even forgot about. Well, life set in and I followed the ordinary path of college and law school. The intrigue of searching for treasure, though, never left me. A few years into my legal career, I get the fun and thrill everyday of looking for the assets that the deceased left behind. My team and I do all the digging and then, when we find something, put in the legwork so the heirs can inherit it. I also get the satisfaction of relieving our clients of the stress that comes with being an executor.
