Business and innovation developer with an interdisciplinary mind. I have a broad experience ranging from engineering (masters in mechanical engineering), though science (Ph.D. in Integrative Sciences and Engineering at NUS Nanoscience and Nanotechnology Institute), to business (founder and CEO of Correscopy and former COO of KuranoMed). Member of Poland Innovative foundation and member and co-proposer of COMULIS (Correlated Multimodal Imaging in Life Sciences), an EU-funded COST Action that aims at fueling urgently needed collaborations in the field of correlated multimodal imaging. Author of multiple patents and publications. I support innovative companies in applying for the European Commission grants from Horizon 2020 EIC Accelerator program (previously SME Instrument) and run a startup focused on microscopy.

Graduate Student ResearcherNus Nanoscience And Nanotechnology Institute Aug 2011 - Jul 2015SingaporeThe interactions of the biological specimens such as cells and bacteria with atomically flat surfaces are not yet understood. It has been reported that the surface chemistry play a crucial role for many cellular processes. In order to understand how the cells respond to various surface chemistry compositions, atomically-flat thin films were prepared by pulsed laser deposition (PLD) technique. The choice of material is huge, any solid material can be prepared in form of the thin films. Only periodic table contains more than 90 metallic materials, then this materials can form others compounds: such as oxides, sulfates, nitrides or carbides. Moreover, these materials can be present as alloys or composites. The problem of the identification of the right material could be addressed by use of the high throughput screening devices. The modified PLD continuous composition spread (PLD – CCS) technique was adopted for biological research. In this method the large number of surface chemistry compositions can be obtained on single sample. The sample consists primarily of few compounds (here 2 and 3 compounds, up to 6) are mixed with each other at atomic level. The atomic mixture varies from place to place, causing variation of atomic ratios across atomically-flat combinatorial surface chemistry material library. As the results, single sample containing hundreds of different chemical compositions is created. These experiments bring us closer to understand the basic biological phenomena of the cell adhesion to the atomically-flat surfaces. In this work the mechanism of the adhesion is proposed. The group of the cell membrane adhesion molecules was identified and proposed that some of the integrins may play crucial role in this process. The future work to identify the exact mechanism is also proposed.
