I delivered consultancy specialized in solicitation of national and European funds for R&D and innovation. My duties included planning projects, focusing on research and its goals, analyzing market and competition, outlaying business strategy, and preparing complete applications for funding. My main specialty were life sciences projects focusing on new drugs and therapies.

I supported business and related processes, being responsible for and involved in:- shaping company's contracted research offer, and setting legal foundations for it (terms & conditions, MSA, out-licenses where applicable and all legal proceeding related to CR);- fully for contracted research services, including contact with customers, determining their needs, together with scientists preparing feasibility studies, costing & pricing, offering, invoicing, reporting, account management, and others;- handling confidentiality agreements and supporting confidentiality policy;- supporting external contracts, subcontracting, in-licensing, out-licensing etc.;- implementing refreshed communication policy: being fully responsible for the company's website, social media, and graphic communication;- organizing trips to events, fairs, conferences;- linking and coordinating various business processes with external partners;- representing the company in associations and unions, coordination of work in these;- supporting processes related to the company's presence on the stock exchange (reports, announcements, investor relations coordination);- and more.

I was responsible for six laboratories to fuel institute's own as well as contracted services, research, development and provide required measurements or data.I was managing and supervising up to 20 people from various fields of science, bridging and coordinating their competencies to achieve institute's goals and fulfill obligations towards customer.I was also involved in ensuring institute's capabilities in performing contracted research as well as for offer shaping, and later for a direct supervision of the contracted work.

I was fully responsible for the Lipotype's lipidomic analytical services and laboratory operations. These included equipment, consumables and personel management; monitoring and maintaining quality; laboratory and equipment maintenance; resource and action planning with the utmost care for the cost efficiency, quality and timely delivery.My team was processing all contracted work (services) as well as work related to R&D and scientific collaborations. On a daily basis I was processing customers' inquiries, including communication and establishing their needs and later supervising the resulting contracted services.I represented Lipotype at trade fairs and other venues, actively acquiring leads and consecutively following up with them.I took part in shaping Lipotype's offer and introducing the webshop system with the module-based analytical services.During this time with the Lipotype's team we processed hundreds of individual customers, took part in numerous scientific collaborations and executed several internal R&D projects, that further enriched the Lipotype's offer.

As a co-founder & co-owner, first I participated in the creation of a lipidomics service laboratory, including the selection, acceptance and implementation of equipment, setting laboratory protocols, organization of R&D and commissioned works.I was responsible for the implementation of all laboratory processes in high-throughput, fit for services scale, which included automation, costs optimization and aiming for the top efficiency.Together with our software developers I was responsible for building, and later introducing, the Lipotype's proprietary lipidomic LIMS, which I was the main architect of. Together with my colleagues we also built quality management and monitoring softwares and greatly re-worked our proprietary analytical lipid identification software to adopt it to large-scale operations.I co-authored several lipidomic analytical methods, which I fully integrated in laboratory operations, that are now the basis of the Lipotype's services.

PhD thesis: „Molecular organization of late secretory pathway in Saccharomyces cerevisiae”

EXIST-Forschungstransfer was a project financed by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy supporting the start-up of Lipotype GmbH, a spin-off company of the Max-Planck-Institute of Molecular Cell Biology and Genetics. The mission of Lipotype is to establish mass spectrometry Shotgun Lipidomics as a tool in routine clinical diagnostics with a focus on personalized health care approaches.
