It all began on a TRS-80 when I wrote my first lines in BASIC. It was in 1984 and since then, the spark is still there….In 20+ years in IT, I’ve completed many successful implantation, deployment and migration projects in environments of thousands of users. It allowed me to develop what I consider to be my main strengths:- Rigor- Autonomy- Curiosity- Flexibility- Historical perspective- Versatility in many technologies:o Servers, SAN, Office 365, virtualisation, mail, Powershell, automation, VDI, AD, Azure, SSO, DNS, etc.I’ve been convinced, since the beginning of my IT career, that a solid understanding of the fundamentals is crucial to succeed and adapt in this ever-changing world of IT. My systems administrator role gives me the opportunity to be directly involved in the constant transformation of the datacenter: from the monolithic and straightforward to the virtual, automated, hybrid and globe-spanning beast that it is today and beyond.This evolution of the datacenter also changed my role profoundly: the tasks are more diverse than ever, which I think is fascinating and never boring. I’m always expecting the next challenge with that same spark than at the very beginning…
